We welcome new members and visitors to our Heritage Open mornings - see 'Joining Us' for details - and we rely on VOLUNTEERS to keep it all going.

WHAT DO WE OFFER?

  • Regular HERITAGE OPEN MORNING: TUESDAYS 09.45 - 12.15 are held in the TOWN HALL, QUEEN'S SQUARE, ATTLEBOROUGH NR17 2AF
  • Talks, presentations and outings at other times - see our 'Events' page
  • Access to a considerable archive of photographs, documents and artifacts related to Attleborough's industrial and commercial history. You can browse some of these in our 'Gallery' or you are welcome to visit us.  Have a look also at our 'Publications' page for items that you can view online  - and booklets that you can order by post - see 'We're in Print' below.
  • Resources for family history researchers: we transcribed, and hold the records of, burials in the Town Cemetery, gravestone inscriptions in St Mary's churchyard and also burials in the Wesleyan graveyard in Thieves Lane. For specific enquiries, use the e-mail address below to send us details of the Attleborough death or burial you would like to trace, and at the same time, please let us know if you have a death certificate for the person of interest to you:  info@attleboroughheritage.org.uk
  • We are able to 'digitise' donated photographs, documents and similar items. This facility is available to anyone wishing to record their own memories for posterity. We hold many research documents, and offer access to many more. If you think we can help you – just ask. e-mail:  info@attleboroughheritage.org.uk

Our activities focus on:

  • researching family history, local history,
  • leading specific projects to record our town history,
  • the identification of vulnerable standing buildings and landmarks,
  • school and student projects

We can also help in planning your visit to Attleborough when researching your own family history. From planning accommodation to specific sites, we can assist. Just email details of your planned visit to info@attleboroughheritage.org.uk
